Ryan Garcia has insisted that he will fight Gervonta Davis at any weight he wants it.
The 23-year-old secured a stunning sixth-round stoppage of Javier Fortuna last weekend.
Garcia floored the former WBA super-featherweight champion three times en-route to claiming the stoppage in the sixth round of a scheduled 12.
That led Floyd Mayweather, the former legendary fighter who is now in the promotional corner of ‘Tank’ Davis, to prompt Garcia to “make sacrifices” and fight his man at lightweight – after the fight with Fortuna had been a division north up at super-lightweight.
And ‘King Ry’ quickly quipped back at ‘Money’ Mayweather, issuing a statement via social media, stating that he will face the 27-year-old WBA ‘regular’ champion Davis on his terms:
“It’s any weight, any time, any place.
“There’s your answer, Floyd.
“Oh, yeah, you can get it [too], if you want. Let’s hear the excuse now.”

Five-division champion Mayweather, who his now 45, has participated strictly in exhibitions since his 10th-round stoppage of UFC superstar Conor McGregor in August 2017 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
But he would welcome the fight between Garcia – who is promoted by a former Mayweather opponent in the shape of Oscar De La Hoya – and his charge Davis because it is the most marketable, profitable fight currently available for his promotional company’s fighter.
The issue in making the fight may lie away from the fighters, though, with Mayweather insisting that Davis is the ‘A’ side of the event and it is contracted at a 135-pound weight limit where Garcia used to hold the WBC Silver crown.
Both fighters also have their fights distributed on rival networks, with Davis having his talents showcased on Showtime and DAZN having an exclusive broadcasting deal with Golden Boy Promotions, meaning Garcia is on their platform.
