Ryan Garcia impressed onlookers with some incredible hand speed and reaction work on the reflex bag at the BoxFanExpo event in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Garcia, who recently returned to the ring after a long lay off with wins over Emmanuel Tagoe and Javier Fortuna, wowed fans with rapid combinations, slick head movement and flashy trick shots in a video taken by FightHype.
He even joked about long-time foe and – hopefully – future opponent Gervonta Davis when his feud with ‘Tank’ was mentioned by a nearby fan.
“If I imagine the bag is Tank, then I’ll break it!”
A potential clash between Garcia and Davis has been on the lips of fans and pundits for a long time, with the consensus being the fight would be, from a commercial sense, one of the biggest to be made in the sport.
Even Eddie Hearn, who promotes neither fighter, said recently that he believes the fight has the potential to do close to one million pay-per-view buys, with a key factor being the alternative audience brought to the table by Garcia.
Garcia and Davis got embroiled in yet another online war of words towards the end of August, sparking yet more interest and debate about a meeting between the two.
Although there are issues regarding weight and broadcast issues to overcome, there is a feeling in the boxing fraternity that recent talks between the two teams have been positive and there is a possibility still the fight could be scheduled before the end of the year.
