Ryan Garcia is around six weeks away from his next fight against Devin Haney but the young talent is already looking ahead to who he might fight next should he win.
Tensions are high between the two American talents as they have already come face to face and shoved one another as Haney predicted that Garcia would surrender when the pair come to blows in the ring on April 20th.
That night will see Ryan Garcia aiming for redemption after a previous loss to Gervonta Davis back in April last year, while Haney remains undefeated and is a former lightweight champion.
In Haney’s last fight he moved up a weight class and picked up his first belt at super-lightweight with a convincing win over Regis Prograis.
With both fighters poised for battle, anticipation mounts for what promises to be a fiery showdown but it seems like Garcia is already looking past that night as he was recently asked by Jack Alter what might be next after Haney.
“I kinda want to fight Teofimo [Lopez]. I think so, I think that’s my next one.
He was then asked how he felt about being called an influencer fighter.
“Facts. I do influence everybody, right. I influence everyone. I am influential.”
Should he beat Haney and go on to face Lopez who recently edged out the challenge of Jamaine Ortiz to defend his world title, Ryan Garcia would indeed take his career to the next level.
