Sam Bowen has been ruled out of his next fight.
The Leicester super-featherweight had been due to return on December 15.
Bowen, the current British champion, was set to face Scotland’s Ronnie Clark at the Brentwood Centre in Essex, exclusively live on BT Sport.
But the 26-year-old (14-0, 10 KOs) sustained a rib injury while sparring future Josh Kelly opponent David Avanesyan and has been withdrawn from the fight.
The manager of ‘The Bullet’, Carl Greaves, revealed the news on social media on Monday.
Absolutely gutted to announce Sam @BulletBowen has had to withdraw from his 15.12.18 British title defence against Ronnie Clark due to a rib injury sparring @DavidAvaBoxer where all devastated but these things happen in boxing apologies to Ronnie @MARKHDUNLOP @frankwarren_tv

The card will feature undefeated 21-year-old heavyweight Daniel Dubois, while Sunny Edwards is set to defend his WBO European super-flyweight title against an opponent to be confirmed and Bradley Skeete will fight for the second time since losing his European welterweight title challenge against Kerman Lejarraga back in April.
Hamzah Sheeraz, Ryan Garner and Harvey Horn will be back in action alongside Sanjeev Singh Sahota, Caoimhin Agyarko, Jake Pettitt and Portsmouth debutant Mark Chamberlain.
