Shakur Stevenson has weighed in with his prediction for the hotly anticipated clash between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia in just over three weeks time.
After months and months of bad blood, social media call outs and tedious negotiations, the mega fight between the two young stars was finally announced, much to the delight of boxing fans across the world.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Stevenson revealed he is backing Davis to get the job done by knockout in the later rounds at the T-Mobile Arena on April 22nd.
“Tank is going to beat him, by stoppage – late.”
Ryan is going to start off real fast and if he’s starts too fast I think he’s going to break down later on.”
There were growing concerns that the fight may not happen, after reports emerged of a dispute over the promotional rights of a potential rematch between the pair
However, this was resolved as Showtime agreed to allow Garcia’s promoters Golden Boy to take the lead for a second fight if Garcia scores the upset win over Davis.
Davis’ court case was also feared to be on obstacle, with the Baltimore puncher pleading guilty in relation to hit and run charges last month.
However, his sentencing will not take place until May 5th, allowing time for one of the most hotly anticipated all American fights in the last few years.
