Shane Mosley Jr. delivered one of the biggest wins of his career after scoring a brutal sixth-round TKO over Serhii Bohachuk in the main event of Zuffa Boxing 06 at Meta Apex, Las Vegas, on May 10.
Mosley Jr entered the fight as the underdog against the dangerous Bohachuk but produced an impressive performance built around sharp counter-punching, movement, and clean combinations.
Throughout the fight, Mosley consistently slipped incoming shots before firing back with accurate counters of his own.
Mosley broke Bohachuk down
The turning point came in the sixth round.
After repeatedly landing body shots throughout the fight, Mosley weakened Bohachuk before connecting with a clean right hook that dropped the Ukrainian contender to the canvas.
Although Bohachuk managed to survive the count, the referee warned him that he needed to show he could continue safely.
Moments later, Mosley unleashed another aggressive barrage of punches, pressing Bohachuk against the ropes, forcing the referee to officially stop the contest.
The stoppage victory immediately became one of the biggest results of Mosley Jr’s career.
Shane Mosley Jr says he realized he could hurt Bohachuk
In the post-fight presser, Mosley revealed that he began noticing Bohachuk slowing down several rounds earlier.
“I saw it in the fourth round. Okay, I can hurt him,” Mosley said.
The American boxer explained that he gained confidence once he realized his right hand was consistently landing clean.
“I was like, ‘Okay, I could really hurt him,” he said. “So, let me see. And then kept on keeping that right hand on him, and it was working.”
Mosley says Bohachuk brought nothing unexpected
When asked afterward whether Bohachuk surprised him in any way, Mosley made it clear he felt fully prepared for everything the Ukrainian brought into the ring.
“No. Everything that he brought to the table, I felt I knew,” Mosley said.
“I was ready.”
Mosley also praised Zuffa Boxing for continuing to build momentum with major fights.
“I’m just happy to be here for boxing and keeping us moving, keeping us going,” he said.
“They’re putting on great fights.”
Mosley calls out Callum Walsh
Following the biggest victory of his recent career, Mosley Jr quickly turned attention toward potential future opponents.
The American boxer openly called for a fight against Callum Walsh after the win.
When asked how many more times he hopes to fight this year, Mosley shared that he wants to remain active.
“One or two? At least one,” Mosley said. “I mean, two very good. At least one.”
With the victory, Mosley earned the performance of the night bonus. He extended his professional boxing record to 23 wins, of which 13 came via knockout.
Meanwhile, Walsh was last seen in January when he defeated Carlos Ocampo by unanimous decision.
