Pound-for-pound superstar Terence Crawford and British contender Chris Eubank Jr are reportedly in talks for a shock fight this summer.
The fight would supposedly see ‘Bud’ jump up two weight classes to 160lbs according to IFL TV, in a surprise move that nobody appeared to see coming.
Crawford was last in action in July, where he stopped Errol Spence Jr in their long-awaited showdown to become undisputed welterweight champion and extend his unbeaten record to 40-0.
Eubank’s most recent outing came in September when he gained revenge over Liam Smith, earning a knockout win having been stopped in their first fight earlier in the year.
Crawford has long teased a move up in weight after it became clear that a rematch with Spence would not occur, having even offered to jump up all the way to super-middleweight for a showdown with Canelo Alvarez.
The potential Crawford vs. Eubank bout could cause a problem in the coaching department, with top trainer Brian ‘Bo Mac’ McIntyre working with both men.
It is the latest shocking fight to be proposed in the last 24 hours, following news that Jake Paul will face Mike Tyson, and that Manny Pacquiao and Conor Benn are in advanced talks for a fight.
