Boxer Tommy Fury and former UFC fighter Darren Till will face off on January 18, 2025. The event is set to take place at the prestigious Co-op Live Arena in Manchester and will be broadcast live worldwide on DAZN.
The first press conference ahead of the fight marked the beginning of what promises to be a tension-filled and electrifying matchup.
During the event, both fighters traded insults, but the atmosphere turned even more hostile following a comment from Till.
The former UFC fighter issued a direct provocation to John Fury, Tommy’s father and trainer, sparking chaos.
“Shut up, you haven’t been seen since Oleksandr Usyk battered Tyson,” Till declared, referencing the defeat of Tommy’s older brother, Tyson Fury.
The words infuriated John Fury, who reacted with rage as Till continued his verbal attacks on Tommy Fury.
“Tommy has the ‘IQ of a loaf of bread,’” Till added, along with derogatory remarks such as “empty head.”
In response, John Fury stood up from his seat and hurled water in Till’s direction.
The situation quickly spiraled out of control as Darren Till reacted by standing up and rushing toward the Fury camp.
Security staff intervened to separate the parties as tensions remained high.
Though they managed to remove Till from the stage, the fighter was undeterred and returned, attempting to reignite the altercation.
The brawl spilled into the press area, where the two continued to shout insults at each other in front of the media.
Security eventually succeeded in escorting Till out of the venue, but not before leaving behind an atmosphere charged with hostility that promises to carry into the ring.
Fury, undefeated as a professional boxer, will aim to prove he can dominate an experienced UFC fighter like Till, who will be making his official boxing debut.
It is important to note that Fury confirmed in a recent interview that his fight against Till is set at heavyweight
This clash in Manchester represents an opportunity for both fighters to solidify their place in the world of boxing.
