Tommy Fury has been out of the ring and recovering from a hand operation but has now given an update on when he will return.
Fury has had only 10 fights but has won them all, most famously against YouTube boxers KSI and Jake Paul. His last bout was in October last year and he has since been linked with plenty of options, some more realistic than others, and the wildest of them all being a fight with boxing legend and multi-weight world champion Roy Jones Jnr.
Speaking to Boxing Social he gave an update on his current status having undergone surgery at the start of 2024 to fix a long term hand injury.
“Injury is going OK, not to bad, I had it done in January, I’m making a full recovery, everything is going according to plan. I speak to the doctors twice a week. Everything is going great.
“If I can squeeze one in at the end of the year obviously I will do that to get the ring rust off because I don’t want to be out too wrong. But if not we roll on to 2025, start with a bang.”
He was then asked if he was keen on a fight with Connor McGregor.
“Yeah, if it makes money it makes sense. If he wants to come over and get in the boxing ring he knows what number to call. Why chase two guys I’ve already beat? Come over and face the king of the hill.”
Should Fury get back to full fitness that would undoubtedly be a huge crossover fight.
