Former undisputed super lightweight world champion Josh Taylor can be just as aggressive on social media as he is in the ring – particular when the topic of conversation is a certain Jack Catterall.
Following Catterall’s win over Jorge Linares this past weekend, Taylor took to social media to berate his nemesis’ performance, namely his inability to stop the faded Linares at the M+S Bank Arena in Liverpool.
Also on the receiving end of some flack was former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew, who was working as part of DAZN’s punditry team.
Never one to be afraid of some back and forth himself, Bellew took to X to respond to the abuse from ‘The Tartan Tornado’.
“Tell me something I’ve said that’s wrong Josh? I’ll say what I see and what I think.. I suggest you do the same…”
Taylor and Catterall locked horns in February of last year, when the former was awarded the victory in one of the most controversial decisions British shores have witnessed in recent memory.
He has always maintained he won the fight, and has never responded particularly well to members of the media claiming otherwise.
Catterall brandished Taylor a s***house in his post fight interview on Saturday night and called for a long awaited rematch in the first half of 2024.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has admitted this would likely have to take place at a catchweight, with the Scotsman having stated after his loss to Teofimo Lopez in June that he intends to move up to welterweight.
