Tyson Fury has apparently heard the news of David Haye pulling out from his fight against Tony Bellew. The rematch was originally schedulled for December 17th but according to a statement by Matchroom, the bout will take place on March 24 or May 5.
Fury wants to step in and replace Haye. ‘The Gypsy King’ says he’s ready to fight Bellew on May 5th at the O2 in London.
Who wants to see me & @TonyBellew go at it heavyweight style? Manchester vs Liverpool northwests finest! šš»šš„ #bellendbellew@EddieHearn

“Iām gutted that the rematch with David has been postponed, both for myself but more for the fans. Iāve had a tough camp with a lot going on in my life but was ready to repeat my win from March. Iāll get over this disappointment over Christmas with my family and will be straight back into camp for a new date, itās a big disappointment but as always I leave my career in the hands of Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing who will get me back in there ASAP,” said Bellew according to Matchroom’s press release.
Fury posted the following call out video on social media.

“I’ll ready, willing and waiting to fight Tony Bellew, May 5th, O2 Arena, London. If you want to fight the best heavyweight in the world, the heavyweight that beat everybody else, the heavyweight that never lost a fight, the real heavyweight champion of the world, I’ll be ready and waiting.
“They call you ‘The Bomber’, I call you the bell end,” said Fury in the video.
Haye suffered another weird and odd injury during training. In the Matchroom statement, ‘The Hayemaker’ went into detail about what actually happened during training.
āDespite the recent injury rumours, I was in perfect condition with an incredibly strong training camp, currently weighing lighter than I have for more than five years, I couldnāt wait to get back in the ring. I was ready to rewrite the ending of the Haye Bellew saga.
āUnfortunately, after a freak accident during a stair conditioning session, which Iāve done with no incident hundreds of times, I lost my footing, slipped, so instinctively grabbed the bannister to stop myself toppling down the stairwell, in doing so I somehow managed to damage my bicep in the process. This afternoon I underwent a procedure to repair it, this was pretty straightforward and my doctor and physiotherapist have no doubt that not only will I make a full recovery but will be able to be back in the gym to start my arm rehabilitation in two weeks.
I'm gonna slice through @EddieHearn full heavyweight stable starting with @TonyBellew & I'll get @champfasteddie to beat up som1 as well. pic.twitter.com/ySwMkkC4X4

Haye probably won’t be very pleased with Fury calling out Bellew but due to signed and sealed contracts, ‘The Gypsy King’ most likely won’t get a shot at Bellew despite the well-timed call out.
