WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, bumped into a familiar face at his brother’s press conference in Saudi Arabia and was quick to engage in some friendly play acting for the crowds.
‘The Gypsy King’ was attending the media events for Tommy Fury’s upcoming fight with Jake Paul when he crossed paths with three-time opponent, Derek Chisora.
The pair last fought in December of 2022, where Fury put a one sided beat down on ‘Del Boy’. Although he has now fought the heavyweight veteran on three occasions and won each time, the pair remain good friends.
Boxing King Media captured the moment where the two British heavyweights bumped into each other and, although Fury initially placed his hands on Chisora, it turned out to be a friendly and humorous encounter.
The big men asked how each other’s families were doing before posing for photos with fans.
Fury has confirmed that he will be in Tommy’s corner on Sunday night as the 23-year-old looks to protect his family’s fighting name.
Although the heavyweight champion will be showing his support on the night, he and his father, John, have threatened to leave Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia if he gets beat. It remains to be seen if they’re joking…
As for Fury’s next fight, prolonged negotiations with Oleksandr Usyk and his team continue to drag on, with the fight now most likely heading for Wembley Stadium.
Meanwhile, Chisora has batted away calls for him to retire from the sport and has instead suggested that he could fight former UFC champion, Frances Ngannou, in both the boxing ring and in the Octagon.
