The biggest fight in British boxing continues to be negotiated on Twitter, as Tyson Fury reveals the purse split his team will offer Anthony Joshua.
In his most recent video, ‘The Gypsy King’ has given fans another peak behind the scenes of the contract that is reportedly being sent to AJ and his team today.
“I’m being bombarded with messages on how much am I going to pay AJ, and everyone’s saying 80/20, 70/30, 75/25.
The actual answer is, I’ve offered him 60/40. 40% of this amazing fight, because I want this fight to happen.
He doesn’t have any excuses now not to take it. He can’t say I’ve lowballed him and offered him 20% or 30%. I’ve offered the people 40%. Take it or leave it. Let us know.”

We reported this morning that Fury had offered ‘champion versus challenger’ terms, but it was unclear what they would be. Now, having cleared it up, it seems he’s more eager for the fight than ever.
As WBC champion, it would be only his belt on the line in the super fight, targeted for November this year. Still, his team clearly know AJ’s pulling power, and a 60/40 split seems fair in this case.
As we wait for the next instalment of social media negotiations, this is one more tentative step in the right direction of a fight that seemed massively unlikely only yesterday morning…
