In an exclusive interview with Boxing Social, Tyson Fury spoke to us about a number of topics from his MTK training base in Marbella.
Fury has seen injuries and then mental health issues peg him back in the last two years. He delved into his struggles and shared just how tough it has been.
Additionally, Fury also discussed the public perception and tarnished image he has and how that affected him.

Fury shared that what he did was necessary in order for him to transcend the sport and grow his name.
The interview began with ‘The Gypsy King’ touching on how he has felt after not being able to do the sport he has loved for over two years, Fury appeared nonchalant.
“To be honest, it wasn’t that hard for me,” Fury began.
“I had a bad taste with boxing in my mouth and I just walked away from it, I wanted no part of it at all.”
“At that point, I wouldn’t have boxed for a room full of diamonds. I just did not want to box anymore, I’d had enough.”
Tyson Fury caused an immense level of dislike for a series of outlandish statements following his 2015 triumph against the longtime reigning world heavyweight champion, ‘Dr.Steelhammer’ Wladimir Klitschko.
Fury also delved into the reasons behind why he did what he did.
“I am the type of character who splits opinion, I like to cause controversy.”
“I wasn’t happy with just being a champion.”
“I had to become the most controversial champion of my time, I had to do it;” Fury added.

“If I didn’t people would have said he is just a boxing champion and what?!”
“What I did crossed over to the general public. Whether it is good bad or indifferent everybody knows me.”
“They know me for being a bit crazy, but I always have been a bit crazy. Crazy as a mad hatter!” Fury said, before bursting into laughter.
