Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have been linked to a fight with each other for the best part of a decade, however the all British mega fight has not materialised as of yet.
There were advanced talks for the pair to face off back in 2021, in what then would have been for the undisputed heavyweight world title.
However, Fury’s arbitration case with Deontay Wilder put paid to those plans, and British fight fans were wondering will they ever see the fight.
A fresh bout of talks took place in the later stages of last year, however ‘The Gypsy King’ ended up taking on old friend Derek Chisora in a trilogy bout.
Never one to shy away from taking a dig at ‘AJ,’ Fury could not resist having a joke at the former Olympian’s expense when asked at a recent press conference, captured by Boxing Social, who he would take on if he could fight any heavyweight, past or present.
“Any of them, the easiest one, whoever that would be – AJ!”
Though it will not be to fight each other, there is a very real possibility that Fury and Joshua could feature on the same card towards the end of this year.
Skills Challenge have made clear their intention to stage an undisputed fight between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on the same bill as a clash between Joshua and former Fury opponent Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia this December.
Representatives of all four fighters have confirmed they are in talks regarding the Middle East blockbuster, though they are still in their infancy.
If finalised, the four fighters could pocket upwards of £300 million, making the card by far the richest in the history of prize fighting.
