At the Creed 3 premiere in London, there was more action than expected as British cruiserweights, Lawrence Okolie and Richard Riakporhe, got into a physical altercation.
A video of the incident surfaced showing the two boxers tussling with each other, although it is unclear what sparked the fight.
Now, a new angle of the incident has since emerged on social media, which appears to show Riakporhe push Okolie, whose initial reaction is to shout “we can really do this bro”.
Okolie has been in the news recently for his split with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom and his trainer, Shane McGuigan, deciding to team up with Tyson Fury’s coach, SugarHill Steward.
The cruiserweight champion is now signed with BOXXER and will defend his WBO title on March 25th against undefeated contender, David Light.
In a recent interview with Riakporhe on Sky Sports, both fighters expressed a willingness to fight each other in the future, although it was assumed they meant in the ring.
Riakporhe, who is also under the same banner as Okolie, recently produced a fourth-round stoppage over Krzysztof Głowacki on the undercard of Chris Eubank Jr versus Liam Smith.
The domestic clash between the two unbeaten cruierweights has generated a lot of excitement amongst British fans, who see it as a close, homegrown affair that has the potential to not see the final bell.
The Creed 3 premiere was attended by many notable figures from the boxing world, including Tony Bellew, who stars in the Hollywood film as ‘Pretty Ricky Conlan’, and trainer Dave Coldwell.
