Even though the official announcement is set for tomorrow, IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev has confirmed his fight against Anthony Joshua on his Facebook page.
Pulev has only lost once in 26 fights and that came against Wladimir Klitschko via way of knockout back in 2014.
Since then the Bulgarian has won five fights in a row including wins over Dereck Chisora and Samuel Peter. ‘The Cobra’ is more than confident that Joshua’s style is just right for him and apparently, the Londoner’s chances are very slim against Pulev.
“Anthony Joshua is a great and dangerous rival. But his style fits perfectly on mine. Boxing styles dictate the meeting between them. In this battle there won’t be much hugs, there will be strong boxing. My preparations are very intense for the short time I have. I’ll be completely ready when I get in the ring. So he doesn’t stand a chance against me,” said Pulev on his Facebook page thus confirming his fight against Joshua.
Should Joshua retain his IBF title against Pulev, his next two potential fights have already been discussed publically.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that after Pulev, Joshua will defend his WBA belt against mandatory challenger, Luis Ortiz.
If all goes to plan, the biggest heavyweight fight to make will happen next summer.
Joshua is expected to face WBC World heavyweight champion, Deontay ‘Bronze Bomber’ Wilder.
