Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk does not believe WBC king Tyson Fury will retire from professional boxing.
Fury, who stopped Dillian Whyte in six rounds at Wembley Stadium last month, stated that he had no intention of fighting on despite the potential lure of an undisputed bout.
When asked of Fury’s retirement plans, Usyk simply told Blockasset: “No, I do not believe it.”
Usyk left his native Ukraine to begin training for his planned rematch with Anthony Joshua last month, and says he wants to bring happiness to the Ukrainian people amid the country’s ongoing invasion from Russia.
“Of course what’s going on in Ukraine will motivate me a lot,” Usyk said. “In the gym, during training sessions and during the fight. Because for me it’s another way to make people happier, those who are at home right now.”
