Vasyl Lomachenko is quickly garnering a reputation as one of boxing’s hottest properties, the 2-weight world champion has only had 11 professional fights.
That, however, has not stopped the Ukranian from amassing one of the standout resumes in the sport today. Following claiming 2 back-to-back Olympic Gold medals in Beijing and London in 2008 and 2012 respectively.
His list of conquered opponents in the pro rankings features prominent champions such as Gary Russell Jr, Nicholas Walters and most notably in his last performance against Guillermo Rigondeaux.
He has touched on aiming for a third divisional title in the lightweight division. Both the WBC champion in that division, the undefeated Mikey Garcia and WBA champion Jorge Linares have been earmarked as potential adversaries.
The seasoned Venezuelan is fresh from the third successful defence of his world title last weekend. Linares dismantled the game Filipino, Mercito Gesta.
Following that fight, Jorge Linares made it readily apparent he was seeking the supreme challenges in his domain and he targeted the WBO featherweight champion.
Can’t wait @JorgeLinares ! Might have to change your nickname to #TheJorge after the fight. You no longer will be King. #facts#KingHiTechLomachenkohttps://t.co/ZPyrUTVZoh

He once again reaffirmed his desire to lock horns with Lomachenko and furthermore totally believes in his own abilities to carry him to victory.
Lomachenko upon hearing the news of Linares’ call outs’, ‘Hi-Tech’ took to social media to offer his retort.
Ask and you shall receive…let’s do this at 135,” Lomachenko commented on his Instagram in response to Linares’ statements.
“I’ll be patiently waiting for you to decide if you truly want this or not.”
He then posted an image of his celebration after beating Mercito Gesta at the weekend.
‘The Golden Boy’ then offered his response to Lomachenko claiming he is coming for his crown.
“The King Jorge is waiting for you at 135. Your dad named you right, because you are vaSilly for wanting this fight,” he joked.
Bob Arum, who promotes Lomachenko shared earlier this week to boxingscene.com that he is fully prepared to make that fight for sometime in the spring.
