Deontay Wilder is done waiting.
He’s been out of the ring since February and while there has been numerous speculations and one confirmed opponent in Luis Ortiz who eventually had to pull out, he’s finally fighting somebody on November 4th.
Mandatory challenger Bermane Stiverne and defending WBC World heavyweight champion Wilder are definitely not on good terms. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ is looking to give his mandatory a beating so bad that Stiverne’s will eventually throw in the towel.
“I’m the realest champion business. They better make sure they have that white flag, that white towel ready. Because every punch is gonna be for bad intentions…bad intentions. There’s been so much talk and I dislike sore losers. You have no reason to be angry at me. He’s mad at me for the wrong reasons. I will give him the right reasons come November 4th. It’s going to be bad for him. This is not to hype the fight. This is how I really feel,” commented Wilder in an interview with Thaboxingvoice.
It’s expected that Wilder will get the win against his mandatory on November 4th. After that, it’s no secret what Wilder wants next.
“Once I get him out of the way I’m free. I’m free. Everybody know’s I want to unify. Everybody know’s who I want. 2018 is going to be a huge year. A lot of questions are going to be asked and a lot of prayers are going to be answered. I know one day things will happen and I think it will be next year. The public are going to force it and the people want it, the people want it now,” said Wilder.
The verbal warfare so far has been mild-mannered between the two. Despite the few headlines and comments, Wilder insists that he isn’t hating on Joshua.
“A lot of people think that I’m jealous or hating, he’s another black man. I’m happy for another black man. But if he’s a man of his word, he’s going to abide it. Joshua said if the people want it, then he wants it. Don’t be a hypocrite and say one thing and mean another. The people want it now,” told Wilder
Wilder says enough teasing the public, he wants to make the fight now. The American also believes that the fight needs to be hosted in the US, especially in Madison Square Garden, New York City.
“They don’t know Joshua here, but that is why they should have the fight here. If they have the fight here it is going to be crazy. They don’t really know him but that is how you get introduced. It’s not going to happen, but just imagine if he beat me, that’s it! People want this fight, they’re hungry for it. I don’t think this fight needs talking about any longer,”
“Why tease people when you can go straight to the sex? Why tease when you can just get it. If we wait, we are taking a risk, a gamble. Either one of us could lose at any given time. We’re both young, we’re both active, we’re both champions.
For me, it really doesn’t matter but if they are trying to make themselves as big as they are, it’s gotta happen here. Everything happens in America. Everybody’s here. I’d rather take New York over England any day when it comes to the taxes. New York is so diverse. Everybody’s there. All walks of life,” said ‘The Bronze Bomber’.
