The now retired former world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has sent a message to Anthony Joshua. The Ukrainian is passing the torch and according to him, Joshua is the next one to carry it.
“My heart is at peace as I pass the torch to Anthony Joshua the next generation. Good luck little bro, I’m proud of you,” wrote Klitschko.
Klitschko announced his retirement after a lengthy period of staying silent after his final performance against Anthony Joshua. The boxing world expected him to accept the rematch against Joshua and fight in Las Vegas this November but Klitschko respectfully declined the offer.
Joshua will now face IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev later this year.
