Xander Zayas Re-Signs With Top Rank

One of the most improved champions in recent years, Puerto Rican prizefighter Xander Zayas, has re-signed with long-standing, Las Vegas-based promotional company Top Rank.

“We signed Xander at 16 and have watched him grow from a gifted teenager into a unified world champion,” said Top Rank President Todd duBoef.

Indeed, Top Rank signed Zayas at such a young age that he was only permitted to box in three States in the US. Bob Arum told Boxing Social editor Alan Dawson at the time that he “fell in love with the kid,” and the teenager’s family, envisioning a multi-weight championship status from the fledgling fighter in the near future.

So far, Zayas is delivering.

“He won his first world title at 22, unified in his first defense, and is now preparing for the biggest fight of his career thus far,” duBoef added, referencing his recent wins over Jorge Garcia Perez in 2025, Abass Baraou earlier this year, and upcoming battle with powerful puncher Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis atop a DAZN pay-per-view June 27 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

“This successful partnership has grown his profile throughout the sports world and reinforces our confidence in Xander’s future,” the Top Rank exec finished.

Zayas said:

“It’s time to keep collecting victories and championships for many more years with the Top Rank family.”

Zayas’s long-time manager Peter Kahn, meanwhile, praised Top Rank for their matchmaking and pointed to the company’s knowledge and expertise in the Latino market. “Xander’s path is a testament to Top Rank’s ability to develop talent the right way,” he said.

“We signed with them when he was just 16, and they’ve done a great job guiding him into a unified world champion. They also understand the Latino audience better than any promoter in boxing.

“Extending this partnership was the right strategic move as we now focus on more unifications, multiple divisions, global events, and defining Xander as one of the faces of the sport while building a lasting legacy at the highest level.”
