Robeisy Ramirez: Set to Return May 29 in Tashkent

Former WBO featherweight world champion and two time Olympic gold medalist Robeisy Ramírez is set to return to the ring on May 29, 2026, at Humo Arena, as part of a card promoted in association with WBC Eurasia, the Uzbekistan Professional Boxing Federation, and Lift Promotion.

Ramirez (14-3, 9 KOs) will face local contender Asror Vokhidov (13-1-0, in what marks the beginning of a new chapter in his professional career, following his recent split from longtime promoter Top Rank, with whom he captured the WBO featherweight title and established himself as a key figure in the division.

In an exclusive interview on the Ebro x Carlos podcast last week, Ramirez reflected on his time away from the ring:

It’s been a year and three months since my last fight. It was a productive time personally because I got to spend time with my family, something I hadn’t done in years because of work. But now I’m really eager to get back,” he said.

The bout will be Ramirez’s first appearance since December 2024, when he suffered a defeat in his rematch against Mexico’s Rafael Espinoza, a setback that pushed him out of the top tier at 126 pounds and stalled his immediate momentum.

About his mindset heading into the comeback, Ramirez added with confidence:

“Poor guy who faces me now. He’s going to pay for all the drive and time I’ve spent away from the ring,” he concluded.

Now, after an extended layoff and significant changes outside the ring, Ramirez looks to reset his career on an emerging international stage in Tashkent. The card will also feature former world champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev, along with Olympic gold medalists Lazizbek Mullojonov and Abdumalik Khalokov, as well as unbeaten light heavyweight Ali Izmailov.

For Ramirez, the fight represents more than just a return it’s a pivotal opportunity to reestablish himself in the featherweight landscape and prove he remains a factor among the division’s elite.
