Alex Dickinson will not be in action this weekend.
The 31-year-old Merseyside heavyweight had been set to box at Manchester Arena on Saturday, exclusively live on BT Sport Box Office.
Dickinson had a spot on the undercard of Josh Warrington’s IBF featherweight world title defence against Carl Frampton, but he has finished his year with a stellar ledger of 5-0 with three early.
He is now 8-0 with five quick since turning over back in June 2017 and will return in 2019 under the tutelage of Everton Red Triangle head coach Paul Stevenson.
He was most recently in action on November 30 at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland, exclusively live on BoxNation, as he outpointed Frenchman Morgan Dessaux over six rounds.
‘Dicko’ was meant to box on the Warrington-Frampton card and the supporting cast will be propped up for action by Commonwealth Games bronze medal winner Sam Maxwell and Martin Murray’s defence of his WBC Silver middleweight title against Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam.
Mark Heffron’s vacant British middleweight title clash against Liam Williams is on the card that also features Lyndon Arthur and Nathan Gorman.
Michael Conlan’s second pro fight on British soil is also on the bill with the return of former WBC flyweight world title challenger Paddy Barnes.
Jack Massey will fight in a tickover showing before he vies for the vacant WBO European cruiserweight title against a foe to be confirmed at the Morningside Arena in Leicester in February, Tyson Fury’s debutant brother Tommy Fury boxes alongside Troy Williamson and Billy Joe Saunders returns in the hope of ending what has been something of a nightmare year.
