Andy Ruiz Jr has revealed the three names he’d like to face if a monster all American clash against Deontay Wilder cannot be made.
Ruiz and Wilder have been in talks for a fight on and off since the beginning of the year, however it seems little progress has been made despite the teams going back and forth for such a long time.
The latest from ‘The Bronze Bomber’s camp is that the fight is off the table after they claim Ruiz priced himself out.
In a recent interview with Make A Move, ‘The Destroyer’ named Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury and old foe Anthony Joshua all as options he would be interested in instead.
“I would like to face Usyk, I would like to face Tyson Fury and I would like to face Anthony Joshua – we could do the trilogy.”
“That’s something that makes me want to cry. In the rematch with Anthony Joshua, I didn’t do nothing right, I didn’t train. How did I last the twelve rounds? That was for him to knock me out easy.
“This time when I do get the crown and become heavyweight champion of the world again, I’m going to do everything right and stay champion.”
Ruiz stopped Joshua back in 2019, springing one of the biggest heavyweight upsets in recent history to claim the unified heavyweight world championship in a memorable night at Madison Square Garden.
However, the Mexican American was grossly out of shape for the rematch later that year and was soundly outboxed by ‘AJ.
Ruiz has been out of the ring since this time last year, when he defeated Cuban veteran Luis Ortiz via unanimous decision. He was offered a shot at Tyson Fury earlier in the year, but again there were accusations that he asked for too much money.
