A nice heavyweight appetiser takes place this weekend between Brixton’s Dillian Whyte and Australia’s Lucas Browne, who clash at London’s O2 arena on Saturday. At stake could be a highly lucrative fight in a very exciting division and both big men are promising a win.
Lucas Browne the former WBA champion who was stripped of his title for failing a drugs test looks to make amends and get back into world contention once more, but at 38 years of age, time is not on his side and with only 3 fights in the last 3 years, inactivity could also be a problem for the undefeated Sydney brawler.
Dillian Whyte suffered a similar fate with a drug ban but is much the younger man at 29 and has been far busier picking up British and WBC Silver titles on route to a credible record of only one loss in his 23 fights to date.
The loss coming at the hands of IBF and WBA holder Anthony Joshua, which in some regards remains his biggest achievement when he hurt ‘AJ’ with a big left hook in round two of an ill-tempered affair, before Joshua regrouped and knocked out Whyte in devastating fashion in the seventh.

Whyte has progressed well since that loss with six good wins including a barn burner of a fight over 12 action packed rounds against another London rival Dereck Chisora in December 2016 and will come into this bout with plenty of confidence.
“There’s a storm a brewing” is pretty much what I expect from these two big strong battlers, who will provide plenty action and excitement on Saturday evening in what is going to be a power punching slugfest between two capable warriors.
Age and activity are certainly in Whyte’s favour while strength and experience are with Browne, so sit back and enjoy as I really don’t see either man troubling the top men in this division this one is to get you ready for the massive action on March 31 when Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker finally go to war.
