Despite having toppled modern-day great Canelo Alvarez, the best of Dmitry Bivol is still to come according to his promoter.
Andrey Ryabinsky watched on Saturday night as his WBA light-heavyweight champion comfortably beat the Mexican which saw Bivol’s stock go through the roof as a result.
Canelo’s jump in weight for a second time at 175lbs appeared a bridge too far but the four-division world champion is mulling over a rematch clause which would present him with another opportunity to face Bivol.
“We have definitely seen one of the greatest fights from Dmitry, but to say it was the best would mean to devalue his abilities and ambitions. I do believe the best is still ahead,” Ryabinksy told Sky Sports.
Bivol won a clean sweep on all three scorecards with each judge awarding him a 115-113 victory despite most observers believing it to be wider.
