Javier Zamarron looks to steal the show in Brandon Adams vs Caoimhin Agyarko undercard

Javier “El Guerito” Zamarron is not overthinking it anymore. The nerves are still there, but they are no longer something that controls him.

“I’m in my double digit fights, I don’t even care,” Zamarron told Boxing Social. “They show up a little bit… but I just believe in my preparation and my hard work in the gym.”

That preparation has been shaped at Robert Garcia Boxing Academy, where the rounds are anything but easy. Surrounded by a stable full of prospects and champions, Zamarron, says the work behind closed doors has already tested him more than fight night. One of his sparring partners is Top Rank’s rising featherweight prospect, Albert “Chop Chop” Gonzalez.

“The work here has been harder than my fights so far,” he said. Knowing that I’m sparring other prospects, other guys that are champions or future world champions, it just shows that I belong here.”

Zamarron, who hails out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, laughed off being labeled “the whitest Mexican” in the gym, and embraced the brotherhood that comes with it. The sparring may be intense, but it never carries over.

“We’re all really close… but when we’re sparring, we take it serious,” he said. “Afterwards, it’s never no hard feelings.”

Now, he heads back to Las Vegas for the second time, more comfortable with the moment and focused on delivering.

“I’m super excited,” Zamarron said. “They call it the fight capital of the world for a reason… I’m just ready to put on a show.”

With a large family expected to be in attendance, that motivation hits even closer to home.

“My family is everything to me,” he said. “I got a really big family that believes in me and supports me.”

Zamarron also continues to refine his style, leaning into what has always come naturally while adding layers to avoid becoming predictable.

“I’ve always liked my right hook,” he said. “But I’ve been working on changing up my punch selection… trying to be different.”

Fighting on DMG’s “Night of Champions X” card, Zamarron remains active and in position to keep building, this time on a bigger stage at The Cosmopolitan.
