The former IBF world welterweight champion, ‘The special one’ Kell Brook has shared that he still has a lot left to offer the sport of boxing, despite coming off of gruelling back-to-back stoppage defeats against Errol Spence Jr. and world middleweight kingpin Gennady Golovkin, respectively.
Golovkin proved too big an adversary for Brook to be competitive with and Brook was unable to slow down an onslaught from a full-fledged middleweight. Brook also surrendered his IBF world welterweight title after being overrun in the second half of his fight with Errol Spence Jr. In both fights, Brook suffered a separate broken eye socket injuries in both bouts.
Last week, Brook’s promoter confirmed to iFL.tv that Kell will be making his return to the squared circle in the first quarter of 2018. Furthermore, Hearn confirmed that Brook will campaign at the super-welterweight limit of 154 lbs.

“My goals are to be in huge fights. I’ve got a lot to give the sport still, and [I want] world titles. I want to be seen as one of the best in the game. I want to excite the fans, myself and be involved in great fights,” Brook told Boxing News.
A target still in Brook’s crosshairs remains long-time rival, 2-weight world champion, Amir Khan. Brook has suggested he is unsure as to whether that bout will happen still.
“I could see it happening. It’s a big fight for it not to happen, but then I could also see it not happening,” Brook said.

Expanding on his comments about Khan, Brook added “I’ve not signed any paper [to ever fight Khan] but until you’re opposite him, facing him in the ring, that’s the only time you know it’s really on.
“You’ve seen it over the years where it’s been talked about and it doesn’t end up happening. Until you’re opposite him in the corner, you know it’s happening then and there. We have come close, it has been close to that level, but we’ve not got it on, have we?” Brook concluded.
