Caleb Plant struck Jermall Charlo behind the scenes at the Errol Spence Jr and Terence Crawford weigh-in, taking the shine from what is an incredible week for the sport of boxing.
Spence and Crawford have been linked to fight for years, and the matchmaking success of 2023 continues by finally making it happen.
As the two welterweight champions prepare for a super-fight in Las Vegas, they took to the scales in front of an animated crowd – both making the weight well.
The card is a Showtime PPV and PBC event, and two fighters from the stable got into it backstage. A video of super-middleweight, Caleb Plant, slapping middleweight champion, Jermall Charlo surfaced online.

It’s unclear as to how the altercation started or finished, although appears that the fighters were separated successfully.
Plant’s impressive knockout of Anthony Dirrell in October 2022 is framed on his record by a stoppage at the hands of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and his most recent decision loss against former champion, David Benavidez.
33-year-old Charlo has been out of the ring since a June 2021 defence of his WBC middleweight title. The inactivity in these prime years was first caused by injury, then a mental health situation, as per the sanctioning body’s president.
He was most recently linked to a former Plant opponent, Canelo, but it was his twin brother, Jermell, who signed the contract to get that fight.
It’s unclear when he plans to return to the ring, or at what weight, but if he’s looking to make a move up to 168, Plant is now an opponent in waiting.
