Former super-middleweight world champion, Carl Froch, has once again gunned for Anthony Joshua, after the heavyweight made claims that he was carrying the heavyweight division, after fighting for the second time this year.
‘AJ’ knocked out Robert Helenius in sensational style in the seventh round of their contest, which many fans feel was relatively dull until the stoppage.
In the post-fight interview, Joshua joked that he needed a doctor and that his back was hurting due to ‘carrying the heavyweight division to the top’.

In response to his comments, on his YouTube channel, Froch questioned Joshua’s remarks, stating that his fellow Brit cannot be carrying the division whilst he doesn’t hold a world title.
“In the ring, they said ‘what about Deontay Wilder?’, the very thought of Deontay Wilder getting mentioned in an interview with AJ, you can just see that he doesn’t fancy it, he is scared to answer.
So, what did he say, ‘oh what’s that? I have got a bad back. My back is hurting from carrying heavyweight boxing’.
Anthony Joshua is not carrying heavyweight boxing, he has no longer got any titles. I don’t know if anybody is keeping up, but Oleksandr Usyk beat him back-to-back for them unified belts and Tyson Fury has got the other belt, the WBC title, so all this ‘AJ carrying boxing’ is ridiculous.”
Despite Froch’s opinion, it appears likely that Joshua will face Deontay Wilder next year, with Eddie Hearn confirming that Saudi Arabia representatives were in London for the Helenius fight and is hopeful of finalising a deal in the coming weeks.
