Jake Paul was beaten by Tommy Fury over eight rounds in Saudi Arabia, and Carl Froch – another rival of the American upstart – was on punditry duties.
During fight week, Paul and Froch has some back and forth online, and the latter coming out of retirement didn’t look far off. He hung up the gloves back in 2014 after a 35 fight career (33 wins) that saw him become a four time super middleweight champion.
Whilst ‘The Cobra’ wasn’t commentating on the night, just on hand for the pre and post fight analysis, BT Sport Box Office did leave their camera rolling on him to get his blow-by-blow reactions.
In amongst calling Paul ‘useless’, a ‘clown’, and comparing his power to a feather duster, there was some techinical analysis in there. It wasn’t good.
“Jake Paul doesn’t know what to do with himself when he’s under pressure. He’s always on his back foot looking at the floor. Probably closing his eyes. It’s fair to say he’s absolutely useless, isn’t he? He can’t fight.”

Froch went on to predict that he would finish Paul in one round, two at a push. That fight wasn’t too far away either, with the recent Hall of Fame inductee open to looking at a contract with the American should he beat Fury.
That, of course, didn’t happen, and a bout with the British legend is now highly unlikely.
Instead, Paul is expected to activate his rematch clause and face Fury for a second time, with his hopes of being considered a bonafide professional boxer by fans and not just a YouTube fighter hanging in the balance.
At the very least, it gives both men a chance to earn another pretty penny, with the spectacle in Saudi Arabia trending worldwide and reportedly performing well in pay-per-view sales.
