Carl Froch has weighed in with a prediction for a potential undisputed heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
The fight has the boxing public seemingly split down the middle; a toss up between the movement and class of Usyk and the size and educated pressure of Fury.
And Froch told Pro Boxing Fans that he is backing his fellow Brit to get the job done in devastating fashion if the historic bout does eventually get made.
“I think Fury vs Usyk is a great fight. Short and sweet, I think Fury’s too big for him.”
“I think Usyk will be clever early on, but at some stage Tyson Fury will get close to him, lean on him, bully him and start hitting him with shots.”
“He’ll hit him with a couple of upper cuts like he did Dillian Whyte, and I think that’ll be fight over. He’s just too big and too good.”
“My prediction is that Fury knocks him out.”
After a seemingly positive start to the negotiation process, fans are worried the undisputed fight could be in jeopardy after news that Fury was unable to agree a deal with bidders from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who were interested in staging the event.
All roads now appear to lead to Wembley Stadium, where Fury broke the all time British boxing attendance last May for his knockout victory over Dillian Whyte,
It is believed the WBC champion will fight at the famous venue on April 29, regardless of whether Usyk is the man in the opposite corner or not.
If a legacy defining date with the Ukrainian does fall through, the likes of Joe Joyce, Deontay Wilder and even former UFC champion Francis Ngannou are all rumoured options for Fury.
