Carl Froch has fired back at Conor McGregor after being threatened by the UFC superstar on social media.
McGregor hit out at the former world champion boxer in a bizarre rant last weekend.
The spat took place on Saturday night, midway through the broadcast of Oleksandr Usyk’s victory over Anthony Joshua.
Usyk, the Ukrainian southpaw, remained undefeated with a split decision win over Britain’s Olympic champion ‘AJ’ in their rematch at the Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia.
Froch was working on behalf of Sky Sports Box Office, who had the UK rights to the showdown in the Middle East after paying a staggering £23million, on the night and McGregor – who entered a boxing ring five years ago against legend of the sport Floyd Mayweather – took aim at him.
The Irishman, who is not known to have rowed with the former WBA and IBF super-middleweight world champion before, tweeted:
“That Froch tick, little scrawny pencil neck… I’ll grab his head and twist it clean off at a oner with my bare hands. Little wally of a thing. I’ll slap you around you little toffee nose tosspot.”
Froch, who was working alongside WBO cruiserweight champion Lawrence Okolie as well as Olympic bronze medal-winning heavyweight Frazer Clarke and host Anna Woolhouse on the pay-per-view broadcast, was quick to respond to ‘The Notorious’:
“Who is this mouthy little pr*** talking to? I will drag you outside with that wispy beard & show you how the big boys do it!!”

It is understood the rant from McGregor was in response to an interview Froch gave last month, insisting that McGregor “couldn’t knock the skin off a rice pudding”.
In typical McGregor fashion, he couldn’t let ‘The Cobra’ have the last word, putting out one final tweet:
Usyk is some boxer. And froch is some wanker hahahaha
