Chris Eubank Jr has taken to social media to confirm his fight with Conor Benn, days after his father cast doubt on the plans.
Following positive updates from promoters and the Benn camp, Eubank Jr himself has finally confirmed what fans wanted to hear – the fight is going ahead. The two men, as their fathers did twice, will meet in the ring.
Eubank Jr looks typically lean posing in his hometown of Brighton on his personalised motor. Perhaps the location is a hint towards a chat with his father, but he seems to have no worries surrounding the older Eubank’s stance on the scrap.
As far as he’s concerned, in 24 day’s time he’ll fight and beat Benn.

Eubank Sr’s reasoning against the match up was regarding the weight. His son will have to drop down to 157lbs, having campaigned at 160lbs and even 168lbs throughout his career.
Many have questioned his ability to make the catchweight, and he hasn’t helped matters by posting amusing vignettes that suggest no diet whatsoever.
With Conor Benn providing more details of the call in which Eubank Sr’s statements were made and this confirmation from Eubank Jr, we can safely say that we have a fight on October 8 at The O2 in London – although it’s still unclear who will be guiding Eubank Jr from the corner on the night.
