Dalton Smith dazzled as he added to his title collection with another early finish.
The Sheffield super-lightweight is a former English champion and was a star amateur prior to turning professional.
Smith is now 12-0 with nine quick finishes, stopping his fellow Yorkshireman Sam O’Maison inside six rounds at the Utilita Arena in his home city, exclusively live on DAZN.
The British title was vacant prior to tonight’s clash but ‘Thunder’ secured the coveted Lord Lonsdale belt with one of the best performances seen in recent times.
Smith began on the front foot, getting the better of ‘The Sensation’ in the early exchanges ahead of handing him his fourth loss.
A right-hand, left-hook combination in the third round set the tone for the way things were going to go, with O’Maison forced to get up off the canvas, and he was cool, calm and calculated as he produced a breakthrough display to add the British title to his WBA Inter-Continental and WBC International Silver titles picked up before tonight.

O’Maison more than played his part in the fight, trying everything to stay away from the lightening hand speed of Smith, who dropped his counterpart twice – once heavily – in the sixth and final round of the 12 scheduled before the referee, Marcus McDonnell, called proceedings to a halt, having seen enough after two minutes and 55 seconds of the round.

In the aftermath Smith said:
“I want to win the British title outright.”
Eddie Hearn, the man behind Smith promotionally, was delighted with what he saw and said that bigger and better things will come for the 25-year-old before potential world title fights in Sheffield in front of large crowds.

Sandy Ryan vs Erica Farias
Meanwhile, Sandy Ryan won her career-defining rematch against a former two-weight world champion.
The Derby girl lost to Erica Farias in Nottingham earlier this year but called to go straight back in with the ex-ruler at lightweight and super-lightweight.
Ryan boxed completely differently from the first fight and picked up the vacant WBC International super-lightweight title with a convincing points win against the Argentine, nicknamed ‘El Pantera’, as the three scoring judges at ringside handed in tallies of 98-92, 96-94 and 96-94.
Johnny Fisher vs Michal Reissinger
Johnny Fisher secured his sixth pro win, stopping Michal Reissinger in the second of six rounds with a big overhand right after a steady start to extend his ledger to five early finishes.

Nico Leivars vs Angel Gabriel Chavez
Former amateur standout Nico Leivars had his third pro appearance cut short and had to settle for a technical draw.
The 22-year-old Nottinghamshire talent now has a record of 2-0-1 after an accidental head clash caused his opponent Angel Gabriel Chavez to suffer a cut above the left eye. The referee, Howard Foster, stopped the fight after 59 seconds of the second on the advice of the ringside doctor.
Junaid Bostan vs Jose Manuel Lopez Clavaro
Junaid Bostan got a finish in the final of six rounds against Jose Manuel Lopez Clavaro. The man who trains alongside tonight’s main event winner Smith was in action for just the second time as a pro and was in total control against hisSpanish opponent before stepping up the gears and forcing Steve Gray to step between them after dropping the 37-year-old, who last boxed in December 2021.
Kieron Conway vs Frenchman Gregory Trenel
Kieron Conway set up his September 17 showdown against Austin Williams with a stoppage win as he kicked off the show.
The former British title challenger meets ‘Ammo’ on the undercard of Saul Alvarez’s WBA Super, IBF, WBC and WBO super-middleweight title defence against Gennadiy Golovkin at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and got his preparation off to a solid start with a fifth-round finish of Frenchman Gregory Trenel.
And there were points wins for Hopey Price, Aqib Fiaz and Campbell Hatton, who showed spells of improvement from previous displays.
