Deontay Wilder has not been able to shake off his losses to Tyson Fury very easily and has now sent a new and defiant warning to his old foe.
Widler took on Fury when Fury was still in the middle of his comeback to the sport after two years out with mental health troubles.
Fury infamously ballooned in weight and admitted to living an unhealthy lifestyle following his dethroning of Wladimir Klitschko for the unified world titles back in 2015.
After losing many stone in weight and getting back to shape, he dared step in the ring with Wilder, the fearsome American knockout artist and WBC belt holder, in December 2018. That first fight ended in a controversial draw with Fury rising from the dead in the final round having been put down hard.
The pair went on to fight twice more over the next few years with Fury coming out on top in the second two fights. They were up-and-down affairs with both men hitting the deck and Fury taking a much more aggressive approach to the contests.
Widler has struggled to come to terms with the defeats and made up some bizarre excuses in the wake of the losses.

He took plenty of time out and only recently returned but for a one-round blow out of Robert Helenius, and that return didn’t go well either when he was beaten on points by Joseph Parker in December last year.
Next up he fights Zhilei Zhang on the June 1st card out in Saudi Arabia as part of the Matchroom vs Queensberry event.
Speaking ahead of that, Wilder once again focussed on getting revenge over Fury.
“I want to make Tyson Fury pay so bad, so bad. I don’t think that chapter is over with. I could see a fourth in the making, created by the creators. The Saudis have the source and the power to make it all happen. I want to get it back so bad and reclaim all the gold.
“I’m looking forward to working with the Saudis for a long time, even when I regain the titles. I truly believe that I will be the undisputed champion and hold all those belts.”
It seems that ship has now very much sailed, especially with Fury having now lost all his belts and failed to win the undisputed title against Usyk, so Wilder will have to plot another path back to the top if that is where he wants to be.
