Derek Chisora Names The Heavyweight He Wants To Make Retire From Boxing

British boxing favourite Dereck Chsora has named the one heavyweight he would like to retire from the sport.

Chisora has had a long and storied career with plenty of ups and downs. He has fought on some of the biggest cards in the sport and never shied away from a challenge including fighting Tyson Fury no fewer than three times.

He has also had battles with the likes of Dillian Whyte, David Price, Carlos Takam and Joseph Parker, and was one of the first men to fight Oleksandr Usyk at heavyweight.

Many think he pushed the Ukrainian harder than most and although he has never won a world title he is still thought of fondly by fans for always bringing the action.

Chisora has revealed that he would love to get in the ring with Francis Ngannou, the MMA star turned boxing novel who has fought both Fury and Anthony Joshua.

He looked good in the first contest with Fury, but Chisora wonders if that was more down to the The Gypsy King having an off night.

“Did Tyson under-perform that night and make Ngannou look good or is AJ simply the most dangerous man on the planet under the tutelage of Ben Davison?”

He then suggested he would prove once and for all that Ngannou does not belong in a boxing ring.

“Boxing and UFC fans are divided, I will show them all. I would happily get in the ring with Ngannou and retire him from boxing. We’ve heard all the excuses, like being made to get to the arena too early, fight me and he can turn up whenever he wants, the result will be the same.”

He then laid out plenty of other potential opponents.

“When time is right, fights happen – Joyce, Miller, Dillian Whyte, if the fights get done then it’ll be the right time, so we’ll see. I love to fight and you’ll see me back in the ring this year, physically and mentally I feel great.

“You’ll see me back in the ring 100 percent, I’m having conversations with promoters right now. I’ll fight all of them. I want to give the British public what they want, I want to give the fans some delicious fights.”

Chisora has always said he still has some big fights in him, it is now just a matter of picking the right ones.
