Eddie Hearn has once again voiced out on WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder’s demands during the negotiations for a potential world heavyweight title unification with Anthony Joshua.
Anthony Joshua is now believed to be ironing out the finer details of a deal that will see the IBO, IBF and WBA (Super) world heavyweight champion take on the WBO world heavyweight champion, New Zealander Joseph Parker.
Parker’s demands are unrealistic, but we’re going to try and make it happen,” said Hearn to Sky Sports.
Hearn explains while Parker’s demands are also excessive. He perceives Parker as the lesser of two evils and the unification matchup that is most feasible.
Hearn shared his view that Wilder is totally undeserving of the price he is demanding and furthermore ridiculed ‘The Bronze Bomber’s resume.
Wilder’s credentials feature a record of 39-0 with 38 knockouts. Most of those coming against somewhat, sub-par opposition.
“Deontay Wilder is on cloud nine. I mean he’s never fought, anybody!”

Hearn argued that with ‘AJ’ you have a very marketable athlete who is commanding figures much larger than his competitors can even fathom. Hearn shared that the pulling power of Joshua is vastly superior to the majority of his heavyweight contemporaries.
“You’ve got to understand, Anthony Joshua is making 10 times per fight what Wilder is making. He wants to make the same money that Anthony Joshua is making in that fight.”
Hearn also says he understands Wilder’s position as he continues to struggle to build a sizable public profile in his homeland.
Hearn believes that Wilder and his team are using the Joshua fight as the last chance saloon to finally make a sizeable earning from a fight before bowing out of the sport.

“I understand. Wilder is on relatively low money, he’s not a draw in the US right now,” Hearn added.
“They all want the Joshua fight. It’s everybody’s cash-out fight.”
Lastly, Hearn once again shared his plan moving forwards with Joshua will be to become the undisputed world heavyweight champion. If Joshua is successful he will become the first undisputed world heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis hung up his gloves in 2004.
“Our plan is to go and pick up another belt, have three belts going into that fight against Wilder’s one. Clean him out, and then have it all, be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.”
