Fabio Wardley Looks Past Daniel Dubois to Next Two Opponents

Fabio Wardley can’t help but keep one eye on who he wants next, should he defeat Daniel Dubois on Saturday in England.

The WBO heavyweight champion puts his belt on the line for an all-British battle at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester atop a Queensberry Promotions card on DAZN. Other fights on the card include David Morrell against Zak Chelli at light heavyweight, and Jack Rafferty vs Ekow Essuman at welterweight.

Wardley is one of the best fighters in the division, outside of the unified king, Oleksandr Usyk, alongside Agit Kabayel, among others.

But Wardley is determined to elevate his standing even further by taking down his rivals from Dubois to beyond.

Speaking to The Sun Sport, he named Tyson Fury and Usyk as ideal fighters to compete against once this weekend’s fight night is in the books.

“I have said it 100 times over,” said Wardley. “I want to compete with the best. I don’t know how much more I can evidence it in fights or in upcoming fights or however I manoeuvre and manage myself – I want to compete with the best and test myself.”

He continued: “At each level, for however long in my career, it was like ‘this is his ceiling’. So I am like, let me really go and find out what my ceiling is.”
