Former British super-welterweight contender Anthony Fowler has revealed he and the other members of Shane McGuigan’s stable travelled to the United States for sparring and had a shocking experience with heavyweight Jarrell Miller.
Miller has been embroiled in controversy for a number of years after failing a drugs test ahead of his fight with Anthony Joshua in 2019. Andy Ruiz subsequently stepped in and provided boxing with one of its biggest ever upsets.
One year later, ‘Big Baby’ Miller tested positive for another banned substance in the lead up to a contest against Jerry Forrest and was suspended for two years.
In June 2022, Miller made his comeback and fought for the first time in four years, outpointing Ariel Bracamonte before following that up with two knockout wins over Derek Cardenas and, more notably, former WBA Regular Champion Lucas Browne.
On social media, Fowler looked back to when he saw Miller spar former WBO Cruiserweight Champion Lawrence Okolie and almost snapped his arm, before declaring that he would love to see Daniel Dubois knock Miller out this weekend.
“He’s a proper t*t, he was sparring [Lawrence] Okolie out in Miami when we went and was trying to wrestle him in the ring, he nearly snapped his arm at one point, then he started kicking off in the gym, roid rage.”
“He’s one big c**t I’ll tell you that, I couldn’t believe the size of him when he sparred Okolie, but if he is clean he will be a shadow of his former self and might tire himself, I hope DDD [Dubois] wipes him out.”
