IBF World super featherweight champion Gervonta Davis has launched a scathing verbal assault at fellow unbeaten American Ryan Garcia on Twitter.
Following Garcia’s prolonged call-outs of the Baltimore-native, Davis took to Twitter and has vowed to visit the 19-year-old at his California gym next week – a challenge that was apparently readily accepted by Garcia.
Ryan keep mentioning my name for clout…I will go to his gym and whip his little punk ass, seriously!

I’ll be in CA next week to!

After Davis’ opening gambit, Golden Boy Promotions’ Garcia – who was ESPN’s 2017 ‘Prospect of the Year’ – replied with a tongue-in-cheek response to the comments. The response, however, did not sit well with Davis, who went on to ask for the location of Garcia’s gym, with a sparring match seemingly in the offing.

Davis, who is 20-0 with 19 knockouts and considered to be one of the sport’s most dangerous power-punchers, recently became a two-time World champion with a third round destruction of former 126lbs beltholder Jesus Cuellar in April.
The Mayweather Promotions star continued to goad ‘Kingry’ by stating that he would indeed show up at Legends Boxing Gym in California to confront Garcia – but once again, the fresh-faced Mexican-American refused to take a step back.

After a period of . a couple of hours, Garcia would once again stick his head into the hornets nest, so to speak, flippantly sending tweet aimed at Davis – known by his moniker ‘Tank’ due to his brutal punching-power – to not “forget his mouthpiece”.

The tweet was met with an icy riposte from Davis, who ominously tweeted himself a matter of hours later…
Play wit fire you get burned

Whether the sparring session will come to fruition is anyone’s guess at this point.
However, one cannot help but smile when considering Garcia, a nineteen-year-old prospect with just 41 rounds under his belt in little over two years as a professional, refused to take a step back in the wake of one of the sport’s most violent operators.
Good luck, Ryan…
