Gervonta Davis Dances To Prove He’s Not Injured After Wheelchair Video

Fans were worried after footage of Gervonta Davis from Super Bowl LVII saw him being escorted away from the stadium in a wheelchair.

TMZ – who originally shared the video in which ‘Tank’ said he’d ‘be all right’ – reported that the Baltimore fighter had sustained an ankle injury, hence the need for the assistance.

He’s pencilled in to face Ryan Garcia on April 15 in Las Vegas, however recent choppy waters in final negotiations and this video have fans less confident than ever that the super fight will happen.

Upon seeing the footage, Garcia posted a message to Davis online, telling his to ‘stay focused’ because they had a fight on.

Davis has now reacted to the injury rumours, rolling his ankles and putting weight on them every which way to prove there’s nothing wrong.

Fans responded to the video, which has over 25,000 likes, mostly laughing. One asked ‘why is this so funny?’ whilst others said it hurt to watch or compared it to videos of viral dances. Of course, the remixes started as well.

In a separate tweet, the undefeated champion asked for information on the woman who was pushing him in his wheelchair, expressing a desire to thank/tip her.

Whilst fans are no clearer as to why Davis needed her, the news of no physical injury is good.

He’s remained relatively quiet as contract issues with Garcia have come to light – most recently a rematch clause on his side and his promotors, PBC, expecting to have broadcast rights should he lose and that rematch be called.

Garcia’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, has branded this unfair. He’s happy for the other side to have the right to a second fight if they lose, however is adamant that he and DAZN will handle the broadcast if that is the case.

Despite the back and forth, De La Hoya has said he’s confident it’s something that can be smoothed out.
