George Groves and Chris Eubank Jr will square off next week in Manchester when the World Boxing Super Series continues.
The meeting between the two British super middleweights is one of the most anticipated, if not the biggest, fight in the tournament. Groves and Eubank are looking to retain their WBA and IBO titles while fighting for a chance to clinch a final spot for the Muhammad Ali Trophy bout.

The bad blood is real. Groves and Eubank do not like each other and their shared sparring history adds more fuel to the fire.
In a recent interview with IFL, Groves revealed a few details from his sparring sessions against Eubank Jr.
“We used to spar and I used to steady his legs constantly with right hands and that was way back in the day when I would only throw a few shots around and would move from rope to rope,” said Groves.
“He [Eubank Jr] had a big full-face head guard on, I’m hitting him with 16oz gloves,” added Groves.
The WBA super middleweight champion thinks Eubank Jr’s previous opponents have very little in common with the Londoner’s skillset and style.
“The lead into this fight for him for his opponents is all wrong. I fight nothing like Arthur Abraham, Yildirim [Avni]. Chudinov [Fedor] and Cox [Jamie] were both aggressive come forward fighters and they couldn’t walk through my punches,” explained Groves.
Groves has stated multiple times that he has plans to knock Eubank out as he does not see the fight going to the distance.

“He’s certainly smaller than Chudinov, he won’t be able to walk through my shots, so we will wait and see. He’s definitely going to go, could be early,” said Groves.
“I don’t think he has a winning formula. I punch hard. I hurt people. His keeps saying you have to win every second of every round. Eubank Jr is not fit enough to do that,” commented the WBA champion.
Groves and Eubank Jr will fight on February 17th at the Manchester Arena in Manchester in front of a sold out crowd.
