Promoter Eddie Hearn has announced a fight between Anthony Crolla and Ricky Burns at the Manchester Arena on October 7th.
Both fighters are trying to get back in the win column.
Crolla is currently on a two fight losing streak after losing twice to Jorge Linares, first in 2016 and again in last March. He lost his WBA world lightweight title during the process. It’s certainly a must win situation for ‘Million Dollar’ since a third loss would be a massive setback.
Scotland’s own Burns also lost gold in his last outing against Julius Indongo. The now former WBA super lightweight champion was defeated in April via unanimous decision in a one sided bout by Indongo.
