Amir Khan made a successful comeback on Saturday night by taking care of business against Phil Lo Greco in just 40 seconds. Khan’s first-round knockout win in front of a packed Echo Arena in Liverpool impressed media and fans alike. Promoter Eddie Hearn believes Khan will ‘thrive off’ from the impressive performance.
“I just said to him just to switch on and be sharp. That’s it and boy was he. I think Joe Goosen has done a great job of keeping him focused going into the ring. He just looked like he was on a mission. The intensity and the energy from him and the arena – I’ve not seen that in a long time. I think he’s gonna really thrive off that. It was a big night,” told Hearn after the fight to Boxing Social.

Hearn has been linking Khan’s name to big foreign fighters such as Errol Spence, Keith Thurman, Terence Crawford, and Manny Pacquiao but the promoter also made it clear that Khan will continue to fight on UK soil.
“British boxing is where it’s at as far as I’m concerned. America is still a huge market but with the reception he [Khan] got I think he’s gonna wanna be back here. I think we can box all over the country and sell out arenas. I think he’ll fight again in July or August time and then look for a major fight in November or December,” said Hearn.
After the fight, the rivalry between Khan and Kell Brook sparked up again when the two fighters exchanged words in the ring.

Hearn says Khan-Brook is the biggest fight ‘financially’ and confirms that the bout is worthy of a stadium.
“It’s the biggest fight financially. It’s the fight that the British fight fans want but they both have a lot of options. It’ll come down the deal and what makes sense and who wants what but the fight has become very big tonight. It’s something we have to look at carefully.
“It’s a stadium fight. Millenium Stadium, Wembley Stadium, It is such a good fight. Forget the event, forget the rivalry, it is such a great fight. You just can’t pick a winner. Kell Brook might have the power, Amir’s got the speed. It’s a brilliant fight between two great fighters. We’ll sit down and we’ll make the right decision collectively.”
