Edgar Berlanga wants a Jake Paul fight so badly that he has started promoting one that does not exist. The super-middleweight posted a graphic on Saturday night showing himself and Paul in a catchweight bout on Netflix – despite no such fight having been announced by anyone.
There has been no word from Paul, Most Valuable Promotions or Netflix, as Boxing News 24 noted. That makes the poster look less like fight news and more like Berlanga advertising himself for one of the sport’s biggest paydays, having chased Paul once before in late 2025.
Who is really in line for Jake Paul next?
Paul went a different way last time, sharing the ring with Anthony Joshua in December. This time a Tommy Fury rematch has drawn the most attention, with Chris Eubank Jr and Ryan Garcia also floated as possibilities. Berlanga, who stopped Steven Butler at Madison Square Garden on 26 July, is simply one of several names in the conversation.
For Berlanga, a Paul fight would mean far more exposure and money than anything currently on offer to him at super-middleweight, so the motivation is easy to understand. Nothing here is booked, though, and the poster may well be pure fiction. The interest behind it almost certainly is not – and until Paul names an opponent, expect more hopefuls to keep pitching themselves for the biggest name in the sport.
