Amir Khan has made the move to the US and is looking get a fight on American soil under new promoter Al Haymon.
The Bolton boxer has said his intentions are to get more recognition in the US market and possibly land a title fight against an American champion.
But he obviously has a couple of lucrative bouts waiting for him in the UK as well.
Most recently Billy Joe Saunders called out ‘King’ Khan after his victory over Willie Monroe Jr in September.
But if there’s one name that gets linked to Khan constantly – it’s Kell Brook.
Khan has said that the fight ‘will never happen’ as long as Brook is with promoter Eddie Hearn. But should ‘Special K’ part ways with Matchroom, then there is a shot or if Hearn makes an offer Khan can’t refuse. Obviously, the Sheffield boxer is more than eager to face Khan at some point.
“I want to get in there and beat Queen Khan up. We all want to see me stood over him, saying, ‘listen, I told you. I told you.’ We want to make that fight happen. We all want to see it. I want to smash him,” said Brook according to boxingscene.com
At the moment Brook is recovering from a fractured orbital bone after getting stopped by Errol Spence Jr in May. Hearn has revealed the future plans for Brook.
According to boxingscene.com, Hearn has said that Brook will return to the ring in February. Matchroom Boxing recently announced a deal with HBO and Brook would most likely fight on the huge US channel. The promoter also has plans to make the fight against Khan happen.
