British superstar, KSI, returned to the boxing ring tonight to face fellow YouTuber, Faze Temper.
The DAZN and Misfits Boxing event came live from Wembley Arena, and saw KSI, real name Olajide Olatunji, fight for the first time since announcing his 5 year deal with the broadcaster to continue these events.
Originally due to face doomed-MMA star, Dillon Danis, the home fighter brought in Temper as a late replacement when Danis pulled out. The New-Yorker who was born in Brazil was here to upset KSI’s plans of eventually facing Jake Paul, even bringing in Deontay Wilder’s trainer, Malik Scott.
Michael Buffer introduced the fighters for their six round main event, and the ring walks were as impressive as you’d expect from people born to entertain. Temper had the height and reach advantage, although slightly more green in terms of experience with three fights to KSI’s five.

The fight itself lasted less than a round. For a moment, it looked like KSI was about to be out skilled – he was rushing in and getting caught before he landed his own. Then, the rushing in paid off – he landed a right hand followed by a left hook and knocked Temper out. An impressive finish, relatively speaking – and one that means a Jake Paul fight is still alive.
Fans packed Wembley arena from the first bell of the undercard until the final of the main event – something many big traditional boxing shows can’t boast.
Idris Virgo knocked down Anthony Taylor – the man who manages to shoehorn himself into every corner of this YouTuber scene – twice on his way to a decision victory.
OnlyFans star Elle Brook beat Faith Ordway in the first round, knocking her down and forcing the referee to wave a stoppage after a flurry. The Mark Tibbs trained fighter celebrated with bantamweight world champion, Ebanie Bridges.
It’s no secret that many boxing fans make a point of ignoring these sorts of events. The Swarmz win over Ryan Taylor presents one glaring reason why – these stars are matched against one another often by trash talking ability rather than what they can do in the ring. With that, you get a fight ending with a jab within the first minute. All sizzle, no steak.
Luis Alcaraz Pineda, the man KSI beat in a strange showing last time out, returned to beat BDave over three rounds, knocking him down in the process. He looked like a different fighter – perhaps the influence of a bizarre appearance in his corner by former cruiserweight world champion, Mairis Briedis.
An absolutely WILD first round 🍿

Salt Papi, opinions on the event aside, is a star. A quick scroll on social media after he knocked out Josh Brueckner with a sharp, perfectly-timed left and you’d find the likes of Sunny Edwards and Ryan Garcia urging him to turn pro. He too wants to fight Jake Paul, and fans would turn up for that.
Slim Albaher and Tom Zanetti propped up the main event with a battle of chins and gas tanks – a power punch affair with absolutely no question that winning meant everything to both, and a worrying sense that these four rounds added more miles on the clock than either should really have. Slim took it via unanimous decision.
CO-MAIN LIVING UP TO THE HYPE 😲

Another influencer boxing card that had flashes of genuine talent and emotion all served up with the unspoken danger of somebody getting seriously hurt. There are many questions about these sort of events, but one that has a conclusive answer is whether or not it’s here to stay. It absolutely is.
One note for commentators – it’s probably best not to draw comparisons to Gervonta Davis and Deontay Wilder at any point.
