Leaked photos from the sparring session between Paulie Malignaggi and Conor McGregor have caused a quite a stir. The American boxer left Camp McGregor in disgust after the Irishman’s people published a photo of Malignaggi on the canvas.
Ever since Malignaggi announced his exit, he’s been blasting McGregor constantly in the media. Malignaggi’s been on various sports shows and has shared detailed information of his side of the story.
Things have now escalated to a new level in a recent TMZ.com interview where Malignaggi admitted he wouldn’t mind fighting McGregor in a ring.
“I didn’t bring the beef unto myself. He put out the pictures and all I did was defend myself. I’m a New Yorker, no one knows how to defend themselves like true New Yorkers. You’re not gonna out-talk me, you’re gonna get trashed and the people have the truth and I have the truth,”
Malignaggi said he got the best of McGregor during sparring and the same would happen in a real fight as well.
“Would I fight him? I don’t mind putting some leather on him. I enjoyed throwing a beating on him Tuesday night and I’d love to continue to do that. I was already starting to get the better of him by Tuesday. The training camp would have only gotten worse. He knew better than to keep me around,” said Malignaggi.
It was Malignaggi himself who hinted that McGregor would continue his career in professional boxing after the fight against Floyd Mayweather. Could there be another conflict-filled boxing match on the way for ‘The Notorious’? If there is, the American is confident of his victory.
“I would beat his ass like he stole something from me. And he knows it, that’s the best part about it.”
